Ranger Adventure Camp

Mayslake Creativity Camps

Explore your creativity through writing (mornings), drawing and painting (afternoons), or both! Mornings will give budding young authors the chance to play writing-related games, listen to literature, experiment with different styles and provide feedback to each other. Afternoons will be devoted to exploring a wide range of artistic techniques – from traditional oil painting and printmaking to unconventional methods, such as splatter painting using balloons and darts! Botanical Arts: Summer Blooms

Learn how to record observations in a sketchbook and develop a finished piece in graphite or watercolor as you focus on the habit and structure of plants at Mayslake. As You Like It

When Rosalind must disguise herself as a boy to survive in the Forest of Arden, she has little hope that she will ever meet the dashing Orlando again. But the Forest is full of surprises and unexpected visitors! When Rosalind finds the exiled Orlando hanging love poems on trees, she must keep her wits about her and her identity as secret as possible. But before long our heroine finds herself in the midst of one of the most complicated love triangles Shakespeare ever wrote! Invasive Plants in the Midwest Landscape
July 26 – Sept. 15

This traveling botanical exhibit by the Chicago-area Reed-Turner Botanical Artists features works in watercolor, gouache, pencil and pen-and-ink that raise awareness of common plants that threaten the health of local habitats. Mayslake Hall Franciscan Era Tour
